Young Saint

Giovane Santo
The spire is located in the south Transept of the Cathedral, near the chapel of S. Giovanni Bono. The statue on the top portrays a young saint holding his right hand to his chest. He is represented in a proud solemn pose, barefoot with his left hand supporting the drapery of his robe, leaving his chest and legs partially uncovered. The work can be dated to around the 19th century.
