Gruppo Lombardo, which among its illustrious members includes the Knights of Labor of Lombardy, was established in 1922 and boasts, since its very beginnings, the highest number of registered members. The Group has always carried out aid and support projects for youth scholarships, in order to favor their entry in the working world.
It has also promoted original studies and research on the economic and social issues which, during various times, have conditioned Italy's development.
From this perspective, many structural nodes of the Italian economic system have been faced, with special focus on Lombardy. From these almost yearly meetings, not just ideas have emerged but also concrete operational proposals, submitted directly to the attention of the highest public offices.
The Group also cooperates with both public and private bodies and agencies in support of philanthropic, artistic and cultural projects. In light of this policy, the Knights of Labor of Lombardy have also given their contribution to the "Adopt a Spire. Carve Your Name in History" project, thus collaborating, as a Grand Donor, with the Veneranda Fabbrica del Duomo in preserving and promoting the Cathedral, not just the symbol of the city of Milan, but also a universal artistic and cultural wealth which, for Expo 2015, must present itself in all its magnificent splendor.
